We want to spread the appreciation of  Latin culture throughout SFA. 

To make sure everybody interested can go, all of our events are completely free to attend to

Hispanic Herritage Month Kickoff

Hispanic Herritage Month Kickoff

Every Fall, the we celebrate the beginning of the Hispanic Heritage Month. 

What can you find at this event?

  • Free traditional food from a Latin country

  • An informational gallery with facts about Latin countries

  • Games, such as Mexican lottery

  • Jalapeno eating contests

  • Lots of hispanic music

Noche Latina

Every Fall we prepare Noche Latina, a party to celebrate the Latin dances and music. 

What can you find at this event?

  • Dance lessons on how to dance Latin rythms

  • All types of music to put in practice your best moves

Tamale weekend

 Plate Sale

To fundraise for our annual youth conference, we sell dozens of tamales.

We set apart a whole weekend from the Fall semester to prepare the hundreds of pre-orders we get.

Day of the Death

Every Fall, we partner with the Asian Culture Club at SFA to celebrate the day of the dead.

What can you expect from this event?

  • Shadow plays

  • Food and snacks for sale

Youth Conference

Youth Conference

Our main event in the Fall semester is our annual youth conference for high school students.

In this conference we bring a main speaker to encourage high school students to attend college. We also have sessions in which we talk about topics like Financial Aid, what it's like to be in college, and other topics. The students get a conference T-shirt and lunch.

Big Event

Every Spring, we volunteer with the BIG Event to give back to our community.

We register as an organization to volunteer at any locations around Nacogdoches, TX.

Mis XV

Our biggest event of the Spring semester is our annual quinceanera.

Every year we give a college student a quinceanera celebration if they did not have one before.

What to expect in this event?

  • A traditional quinceanera celebration (doll, heels, neckess, etc)

  • Traditional dances (Waltz, surprise dance, father-daughter dance)

  • A DJ led dance party
